I graduated from Pittsburg High School a “few” years ago:). After high school I attended Northeast Texas Community College, where I received an Associate of Science degree. After NTCC I transferred to the University of Texas at Tyler, where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Education in Reading.

Each year we spend several hours in continued education/professional development. Some of the areas of professional development topics include: gifted and talented programs, reading, dyslexia training, grade level topics, technology in the classroom, Education City, Reading 3D and many more.
I am starting my 6th year at Chapel Hill Elementary and my 6th year in Kindergarten. I teach all subjects in the self-contained Kindergarten classroom. I love to teach Kindergarten and find great joy working with our early childhood aged children.
Before I started teaching here at Chapel Hill in Kindergarten I taught Adult Education at Northeast Texas Community College in the area of English and Writing. I also taught at Kid Crossing FBC Preschool in the 2 and 4 year old classes. Prior to NTCC and Kid Crossing I taught 3rd grade for 6 years at Pittsburg ISD. I have been teaching since I was a teenager in some form. I taught in my church’s preschool and youth programs while in high school. I also owned a cheer, dance, and twirling studio for a time, where I taught many of the classes.
I have been married to my husband, Drew for 17 years. We have twin sons named, Colt and Cash. They attend Chapel Hill Elementary and will be in the 4th grade this year. We have several pets including, two dogs named Jango and Jingles and three cats named Whisker-Mittens, Nellie, and Litten.
I love to spend time with my family. We spend lots of time playing games such as, card games and board games. We love to vacation at the beach, or pretty much anywhere outside. I love to swim, fish, and work in my yard, but I also love to read and watch movies.
