I graduated from DeKalb High School, DeKalb, Texas.
I graduated from Hardin-Simmons University, Abilene, Texas.
I received Bachelor of Music Education from Hardin-Simmons University.
I also earned an Elementary Education Certification.
Since graduating from college I have also earned certifications in Special Education and English as a Second Language.
This is my 11th year to be at Chapel Hill. This year I will be working in the Elementary Learning Lab with Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade readers.
I taught in 2nd grade and Elememtary Music at Clarksville ISD, 3rd grade at Queen City ISD, I was Librarian at DeKalb ISD for 1 year.
Before beginning to teach at Chapel Hill I worked at a facility for children (ages 6 weeks to 5 years) with developmental delays as the Special Education Teacher for 3 years.
My husband, Paul, and I celebrated our 41th Wedding Anniversary this summer. Paul has driven a bus for Chapel Hill for 11 years, has pastored churches in Texas, Arkansas, and Arizona for 35 years. We have 3 adult children:
Caleb, who is working on a second degree in Musical Theater at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. He played the roll of “Horton” in “Seussical the Musical”, “The Wizard” in “The Wizard of Oz”, and “Triton” in “The Little Mermaid” while attending SAU;
Joel, who graduated from Chapel Hill, attended Northeast Texas Community College, is currently living in Kasilof, Alaska. He and his wife, Katherine (Anderson), are working and expecting our first grandchild in December; and
Ariah, who also graduated from Chapel Hill, attended Northeast Texas Community College, is currently living in Texarkana, working at Chili’s, and making plans to continue her pursuit of an acting career .
When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, listening to music, and driving.
Reading, music and movies are hobbies that I enjoy.
